It's Challenge time again

Each month, there is a group of awesome women that post a Bible Verse Challenge Project. It's called "Devine Design." They are all very talented women and I just try to play along! I started doing 6x6 album pages and this month is my MOST favorite verse of all time! I have been waiting patiently for this verse to come out in stamp form and my prayers have been answered! Our Daily Bread Designs is an incredible online store featuring religious stamps as well as other accessories. This stamp came with 6 awesome verses, but as soon as I got my order, I KNEW I wanted to use this one for the BVC this month!
I also found one in my album that I forgot I made at the end of last month! I was ahead of myself and didn't realize it! This actually started out as a scrapbook page we made at a stamp club. I didn't have a picture of Jason and I to use, so I ended up bringing the materials home. I added the verse, ribbon and re-arranged the materials a little. Instant card. It's not one of my favorites, but I still included it in the book!
I have another post to make, so I'll be back in a few minutes! I took my BVC and did some neat things with it... more projects finished and ready to show!!

Early bird gets the worm!

I'm actually ahead of the game this month! I had a few moments in my "Little Corner of the World" and got some stamping done! I'm playing along with my friend Angel and others in a Devine Design Bible Verse Challenge. I'm creating a 6x6 album of "Scriptures to Live By." It started out as "Proverbs to Live By" but as I was browsing through my scriptures, I came across this one. I've been having some frustrating times with my children and this one shouted at me!!! I have to remember this to keep my calm sometimes! I struggled with the design on this one, took MANY attempts to be satisfied with my layout. I tried to do it with 2 larger children, but it didn't look "finished" till I ended up personalizing it to my kids! Go Figure! The best thing is that I didn't stamp a SINGLE thing! It's all part of a Simply Scrappin' Kit that I've been carrying around for some time. I think it works perfectly, though.
So, here is my entry for the BVC09! FUN!!!
I bought a new notebook for my grocery shopping but it was plain, so I took care of that. I'm not completely satisfied with how it came out, but I had already started and committed (permanet glue) so had to continue. The red "flower" is actually attached to the blue elastic band, used to hold the notebook closed. I like how that part turned out, but I wasn't sure how to "finish" the center part with the words. Oh well... there will ALWAYS be a new notebook to play with in the future!!

Creative Catch-Up

Today is my "catch-up" day!
I made another 6x6 page for my "Proverbs to live by" book for the BVC09 Challenge! I had a "vision" for this page. I saw the verse and knew exactly what stamp I wanted to use. I envisioned it in a "spotlight" frame, so I decided to play around with it. I needed somthing simple and quick and I am quite pleased with what I came out with.

I wanted a small purse to carry when I didn't have the diaper bag, but couldn't find anything I liked (that wasn't $50!). That's when I came up with this purse I made. I bought 3 bandanas and sewed them together... iron on a star, add a strap and taa-daa!
I had made some of these books and magnets for my Sunday School class, but this time we have a man for our "guide" this go-round, so I had to tweak them and make a more masculine one. I really like how it came out. I think I may make one for me!
Last but not least..
Randy chose to make these for his school Valentine's Cards. I gave them the option to buy some in the stores, but they both chose to make them again. (they are my boys, after all!!!)
In school, they have been learning about the Chinese New Year and they learned how to write "love" in chinese. When Randy saw this stamp on my shelf, he said he knew exactly what he wanted to do! We crimped strips and wrapped them around Lik-em-aid and he's done!
Riley's are already finished, but he took them to school before I could get a picture!
He's toooo quick! I'm going to make some more for the kids to take to their Sunday School classes on Sunday, so I'll have a picture of them then. I've got a little project going for my Sunday School class, too.. but I haven't finished them yet.
My BIG project right now is a wedding cake for our church's re-newal of vows this weekend.
I'm doing a 3 tier wedding cake and 2 grooms cakes. Hopefully it will all work out! Be sure to check back after Saturday for pictures!!!

Devine Design Bible Verse Challenge

My friend Angel over at Angelosity is part of an awesome group of women who do a monthly Challenge. This one is a little different, though. It includes a scripture. You can read about it here: Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge.
I have been watching Angel with awe at her designs each month waiting for the inspiration to hit me. I decided it was time! I'm joining the other "Scriputre Chicks" and am going to play along this year! This will be an awesome way to get back into the scriptures and give me something to look forward to each month.
I've decided to do a 6x6 album. I have one I've been looking for something to do with, and figured this is perfect. I am going to try and do "Proverbs to Live By." We'll see how it goes!
