Halloween Fun

Here is my Lost Crew, Halloween Night 08.
The boys' came up with the idea after we got hooked on watching "Hook," which is an awesome movie if you haven't seen it! It worked out perfect and we had all the main characters covered.
Colt was our little Peter Pan, Brodie was Tinkerbell, Riley was Capt. Hook and Randy played Rufio, the Lost Boy in charge when Peter Pan left.

They designed their own costumes, with help and advice from Mommy, and Goodwill, too! Add in a few swords, red hair color, fairy wings, and a plastic hook, we were ready to go!!!
Here's our little Peter Pan... isn't he cute???
Makes me not want to grow up!Our lovely Tinkerbell.
She wanted to wear the costume everyday, but somehow it managed to survive till tonight! It was a little chilly, hence the sweats... and she will only wear crocs! Too bad they weren't Tinkerbell Crocs!
Rufio vs. Capt Hook. I'm not sure who's more evil looking?
Close up of Randy's hair.
We've been letting it grow out JUST for halloween so he had enough hair to spike into three rows. It actually turned out pretty good. He did a great job figuring out how to create Rufio's outfit.. down to the torn sleeves, pants and shirts!

Last but certainly not least, our Famous Capt. Hook!
Pirate of the Caribbean vest/belts $2.99
Red sweatshirt turned into a coat $1.99
Pirate Hat w/hair $1.99
White shirt $1.99
Bringing to life your favorite Peter Pan character... PRICELESS!!
This was a cute pose, I just had to include it!
.... sorting through the booty!!
Looks like everyone did a good job pirating!

This was a fun Halloween! I enjoyed working with the boys to put their costumes together and watching them come to life, piece by piece. Jason's father came up to walk the neighborhood and my mom joined us for the festivities, too. It was fun watching the kids run from house to house, shouting to tell me what they just got. It brought back a lot of fun memories of my trick-or-treat days! We're already talking about what they want to dress up as next year! I have to admit, having 4 kids is fun when it comes to halloween... we can do "themes" easier!!! Oh.. and as for me... I was "Wendy," but wasn't about to let myself be photographed in my Robe! Maybe tomorrow night when we have our Squadron Party!

"Manly" day!

Today over at Angelosity, we were encouraged to make a "masculine" card. As I searched through my stamps, I realized I don't have masculine stamps. Sad, huh? So, I tried to do the next closest thing and make a card appropriate to send a "man." Hope it worked! I was excited about being back in Texas, hence the Texan Flag!
Now, I'm off to finish making a castle cake for tomorrow's party, and get the kids ready for trick-or-treating. I'll be back with pictures of both!!

Moving right along...

Day 11. Almost there. Only 7 more to go. I've had fun. It's made me realize how much I enjoy doing this hands-on type of stuff. I hope to get back into it some day... when the children are grown and I can actually think without a little voice saying, "mommy, mommy, mommy," over and over in my head. Will the day ever come???
Anyway.. here's my sketch card for Angelosity, RDOA 11. Simple, I love the colors and I know the perfect little boy it will go to!

In our world beyond stamping, we're preparing for Halloween... The boys are eager to try out their costumes, Brodie has been dying to wear her wings, and I must say, I'm excited about seeing it all pull together. We found the perfect final touches for Randy's yesterday... one less thing I have to make! Accessories are in hand, costumes are JUST about done. Randy gets to wear his tonight for scouts, so it will be a run-through for his costume. I just need to find something for me to wear to scouts tonight and we'll be good to go! I'll be sure to be back with pictures soon!!

Wednesday

Today was another color challenge over at Angelosity. We were encouraged to use Mellow Moss, Cranberry, Chocolate Chip and Kraft. Here's my creation. I felt "fallish" when I saw these colors together, so I went for an acorn and fall leaves! Makes me want to make me go rake some leaves and jump in them! Oh the days of our younger years!
Brodie got a hold of the camera this morning and took some pictures of everything... One of me actually came out pretty good, so I thought I would share it. A good picture of me doesn't happen very often, usually because I'm the one behind the camera! So thanks Brodie, for showing everyone that I am still here!

Pre-Birthday Card

Today was another sketch day at Angelosity and the perfect chance to make a birthday card for Randy. I can't believe he's going to be 9 this year! Where has the time gone??? One more year to have all my kids in the single digits. I'm not sure what I will do when he's 10! Maybe go into hiding? Anyway, one more birthday for my baby, my first born... I'm glad I still have 12 days to deny it!!!

Bookmark Challenge

Today at Angelosity was a bookmark challenge. I made some like these a year or so ago for a bible study and have used mine to near tearing apart, so it was a great opportunity to sit down and make some more! I decided to make a back up, since they are still used in my bible study class and I know I'll be needing it! (If you know Beth Moore, you know she's the "Save this page right here, we'll be back, but turn to this for now!"

Pumpkin Goodies

Today was another sketch day over at Angelosity. I've come to realize that some days I have it and some days I don't. Today was definately a "don't" day. I spent all day working on this sketch and just couldn't find something I was happy with. I finally settled on this Halloween Pumpkin Card just because I needed to post something today! The pumpkin was actually an iron-on patch that I heat-tooled onto paper. It actually worked better than I thought...

This one was just a bonus project! We made yummy pumpkin cookies today and Riley wanted to give some to Savanna tomorrow, so I pulled out these cool Halloween boxes someone sent to me... As I was decorating it, I realized I could make it into a Sketch Project! A few extra stickers from my new Halloween stash and I think it ended up cute! I'm sure Savanna will enjoy it.
Brodie helped me decorate the back of the box with these cool Pumpkin Face stickers. This box is almost too cute to giveaway. Thank goodness we have a second one ready to make!

Scrap heaven!

Today was a fun day in the world of Angelosity's Rainbow Days of Angelosity! We had a scrap challenge, meaning we could only use scraps on our projects today. It was actually really! I should do it more often! I have a box of pre-stamped images so I sorted through those and found something to start with. From there, I looked through scraps to work around the images. I like what I came up with. I had a hard time deciding between two images, so I just made two cards!!
The first one is a cute bird strip and I found a perfect rub-on saying. I am IN LOVE with these rub ons!! They are so easy and I can put them whereever I want them! How simple is that to say what you want? I'm going to have to hit Hobby Lobby and find some more!! The little flower brads were the perfect blue to go with the card!
Same with this one. It's a scrap of 4x4 brown printed paper that I thought was really cool.. the trees were already stamped in this cool multi-colored stamp pad. The saying was in the rub-on book, too, and the color worked perfect with the image, so on I rubbed! I rearranged the words so it fit on the card, which is awesome! Ended it with the little flower brads because I felt it needed a little something more... I love these colors!!!

Day 5 and getting faster!

Today at Angel's Rainbow Days of Angelosity, we had a sketch challenge. She gives us a layout and we have to make a card with that specific layout. I didn't have any scallops to use under my image... one thing I actually don't have any of, can you believe it? So, I had to bypass the scallops and just settle for an oval.
I've been looking at this Christmas Stamp set sitting on my shelf since I unpacked it, so I knew just what set I wanted to use. It actually worked better with no scallop since it's a Christmas card. It's plain and simple and after the lack of sleep I had last night, just what I needed!!!

Sock Hop!!!

The boys' school had a Sock Hop to raise money for United Way. It was too cute. The teachers wore Poodle Skirts, rolled their jeans and were be-bopping around the halls all day. I had my 4 little greasers with me, but only managed to get a picture of one of them. Randy was too busy trying to win prizes with the hoola-hoop and Brodie was being a crab and didn't want her picture taken. Imagine that!

Here is Riley trying his hand at the Ring Toss.
He was actually very good and helped his friend
Savanna (girlfriend, actually, but you'll meet her in a minute!)
Riley didn't want to get his face painted, but after much persuasion from Savanna decided on a Black Widow Spider.. yes, he's a little obsessed with spiders latey!
And this is my little stud muffin and his "squeeze." They aren't in the same class, but see each other only briefly in the hall and after school. They sometimes have specials together, but that's it. The teachers think it's too cute that they have "bonded" so quick. They have never seen two Kinders take to each other like this, and not be in the same class. They exchange "gifts" almost every day after school, pictures, little toys (it's actually been a great incentive to get him to go through the toys in the play room!!!), baked goods (they make the best Elk Jerky!!! YUM!). What's even cuter is that Savanna has a little sister that's exactly a month older than Colt.. can you say match made in heaven???

It's beginning to look like...

Christmas card time! Today's challenge with Angel was a Christmas card. Time to start thinking about that again!! I can't believe it's almost the end of October already!
This is a card design I got from an old demonstrator and one I've been wanting to try out, so I got to it today! Trying to narrow down my Christmas Card design is always so much fun! More excuses to stamp till I find the "right" one!

Spider Fun

I'm trying to get into the swing of Halloween, since it's almost here. I've never been one to do Halloween cards, mostly because I have never had the materials to use for it, but since I was lucky to win a day of Butterfly Kisses from Angel, I've been trying to put my goodies to use!

For today's Sketch I kinda went outside of the box and on a tanget, but I think it still works. If not, it was still fun to make!

Attempt Two

I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of my crafting... might have something to do with a certain someone who thinks he has to be held all day! Angel challenged us to a Color Challenge for this project. We had to use 4 colors in our project, Olive Green, Red, Baby Blue and Baby Pink. This one really stumped me... I went back and forth with what to do and how to make all the colors work together. I wish I had some desinger paper with all those colors in it... would have made it easier. I ended up using a cuttlebug piece and "accessorizing it." Not extremely happy with the outcome, but under the circumstances, it will do.

The "Cele'bling'" is supposed to be a play on "celebrate" and the arrow points to "Winter," as in "Celebrate Winter," but I'm not sure the meaning came across! :-) Oh well.. there is always tomorrow's challenge!

My little Pumpkins

New house

Welcome to our Home...
It's not much, but it's ours.
Even the kids make do with no furniture in the first few days! As long as they have a TV and something to sit on, they seem happy!
I'm sure I'll be back with more pictures, but for now I'm just trying to play catch-up!!

Here we go again!

My friend Angel is doing a second countdown to her birthday this year... I'm so excited that I'll be able to play along again. She is going to post a sketch for a card, or something, and we are to make a project following her sketch. We post it on our blog, link it to hers, and she puts us in the drawing for a HUGE surprise on her birthday. Last year it was a HUGE jackpot of stampin' supplies. This year, I hope to be the recipient!

This is my first sketch in too long! I got an awesome package from a great friend full of Halloween goodies, so I knew what my first card was going to be! I can tell it's going to take some getting back into the swing of card making after 4 months of not doing anything... but it will be a fun challenge, none-the-less!!

Brodie turns 3!!

My little girl is 3!
I can't believe it! She's grown so much in the past 3 years, and now I'm ready for her to slow down!!!

We did the "Tinkerbell" theme since she is "fairy" crazy right now! This cake was awesome!!! The little tinkerbell is actually hanging on a little stand, and it can also transform into a zipper/backpack clip. It's so cute!

And here's the birthday girl with all her party goodies.
Ok, so the plates, bags and cups are "Fancy Nancy." Hey, a birthday girl shouldn't have to decide between two things pink, so she got them both!! Blowing out her candles. It was So cute!
Be sure to watch for the video of her blowing it out.. it is too funny!
Her birthday easel.. she LOVES it! Something to draw on that isn't the walls!
Her "Fancy Nancy" skirt. She is SUCH a girl.
Her star pinata. Yeah, I couldn't find Tinkerbell, but the thought of taking a stick and whacking Tinkerbell seems too mean!!!
Notice... Brodie has changed clothes since the pictures above?Blowing bubbles at my parent's pool. They loved how the bubbles landed on the water and then caused the ripples to "dance" and make cool shadows on the bottom of the pool.
Yes, Brodie's third outfit today. She HAD to try on ALL of her new birthday clothes!

The spoils of the pinata... glow sticks! I actually figured out my night setting on the camera and I think the "action" shots turned out great!

Brodie got a baby doll for her birthday and her she is comforting the baby as she was "falling asleep." She is such a little mother!
